She selected Uppsala silk from the Andhra Pradesh region, in a golden blush color influenced by the ageless Pad mam (lotus) and Kanakaambaram, a traditional temple flower that Telugu ladies frequently wear in their hair. The saree’s silhouette is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional half-saree style worn by young women in South India, with inspiration drawn from the paintings of the renowned Telugu artist Baku.

The traditional three-piece Andhra Pradeshi men’s outfit, the pattu pancha, laalchi, and kanduva, is reinterpreted in a contemporary way on Naga Chaitanya. The rich dori work in ancient gold zari accentuates the ensemble, which is made of exquisite ivory brocade and subdued gold tussar silk.
